Vittore Frattini. No days without a line.

In the panorama of Italian art, Vittore Frattini is one of the few artists to have tried to look back with consistency and continuity to the fate of plastic form and sculpture, without ever losing sight of the delicacy and poignancy of his typical dynamic sign.


Vittore Frattini publicly debuted as an artist in 1957 in his first solo exhibition at the Sanremo Casino. Among other personal remember that at the Museo della Permanente Milan 1965, by Guttuso, Atelier Donati in Zurich (1975), the Museums of Villa Mirabello di Varese (1984), at Georgetown University in Washington DC (1986), the Civic Gallery of Modern Art in Gallarate (1988). Many of its holdings in group exhibitions in the major exhibition spaces including the Prize of the Fedele 1956, 1959, 1961, 1965, at 171 and 172 Grand Palais “Le Salon” in Paris, at the Venice Biennale for the X ‘incision, and the 8th Quadrennial of Rome. At the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum New York.

His publications include numerous graphics: from the first of ’59 by Aldo Patocchi, in “Words and Images” with poems by E. Mastrolonardo, introduced by Franco Russoli, Mini-Pocket edited by Giorgio Upiglio, with text by Piero Chiara (1974) the last “Flights” 2005 with lyrics by Mario Luzi. The main monographs are: ed. Mario Walls with text by Luigi Carluccio (1971), Editions Milan 1981 Cortina text Miklos N. Varga. Editions Vanni Scheiwiller: Lumen full of gold fish and Open Offers in the series here, with text by Gian Alberto Dell’Acqua and Giuseppe Panza di Biumo (1985). G. editions Mondadori: Opera on paper, “by Flaminio Gualdoni (1996),” Paintings “by Giuseppe Panza (1997) presented at the Press Club of Milan.

The publishing house Skira has dedicated a large monograph presented at the Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan (2002) by Giuseppe Panza di Biumo and Philippe Daverio. The Museum of Spoleto has dedicated a large exhibition Anthology (2005) by Martina Corgnati with catalog Mazzotta.

In 2009 he presented in Milan, in the “Cortile della Seta” all’UBI, the most recent sculptures by Angela Madesani and the latest glass works at the Gallery “The Million”. In 2009 the Province of Varese Villa Recalcati presents a wide retrospective exhibition curated by Philippe Daverio.
